A magical story about the importance of kindness and friendship.

When a little girl finds a lost star, she takes it home and cares for it, just like a beloved pet. She reads it stories, makes it special snacks and tucks it into bed at night. The more she cares for the star, the brighter it glows. Until, one day, it’s time to let go …

A brilliant diverse black children’s book that teaches your child about nurturing something whilst understanding that just because you found something doesn’t mean it belongs to you..

This is a beautiful book which teaches your child about compassion. As the pet star is nursed back to health, the little girl forms a friendship with her new pet, she takes it to the park and attempts to play games with the star. Although the star is content to be by her side, she sees it cannot live up to its full potential whilst with her so she opens her window at night allowing the star to shoot off into the night sky. A black children’s book that gently teaches children about loss and also the importance of recognising when it is time to let something go.
