Job title: Children’s Book Researcher 

Location: Brixton                              Salary: £TBA

Contract: Permanent                               Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about children reading and learning, with a personal commitment to making reading fun and enjoyable? Do you know what it takes to inspire and engage children in the art of reading? Do you have excellent computer skills including, Excel, Word, database (Air table) 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Children’s Book Researcher with excellent literacy, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to join our vibrant team.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and keeping up to date our children’s book database as well as keeping track of our book shop stock. You will be able to successfully liaise with both publishing houses as well as self published authors to ensure that Woke Babies continues to be delivering a high quality black children’s book subscription service that is second to none.  

As our Children’s Book Researcher, you must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will also be seeking advertising opportunities alongside arranging meet the author events to generate new leads to ensure Woke Babies corporate aims can be achieved.

Job title: Children’s Activity Creator

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and creative curriculum based Children’s Activity Creator ideally with a background in education

As our Children’s Activity Creator, you will be responsible for developing Woke Babies unique children learning resources to encourage the engagement of children aged from 0 up to the age of 8 years old in activities that will contribute to their language, social and developmental skills.

To be considered for this amazing opportunity, you must:

Have a working knowledge of primary or early years education.
Be an excellent educator who is dedicated to raising the attainment of children.
Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate positively with all members of the Woke Babies team
Have an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Be able to think and plan creatively and strategically.
Have an ability to come up with new, fun and innovative children’s resources to support children’s learning.

Ability to handle pressure and prioritise workload

Job title: Social Media Manager 

Location: Brixton                              Salary: £TBA

We are seeking a highly self motivated social media manager to lead Woke Babies’ social media strategy in order to boost and ensure our continued online visibility as well as promote customer and client engagement,

As the social media manager, you will manage our online presence by developing an excellent online marketing strategy, to analyse usage data, facilitate customer service and manage our projects and campaigns. Hence an ability to communicate at all levels is essential alongside excellent interpersonal skills and great time management. 

Main responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop creative and engaging social media strategies
  • Manage the day-to-day handling of all Woke Babies social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
  • Oversee, plan and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools such as Latergram
  • Create engaging multimedia content (and/or outsource this effectively) across multiple platforms
  • Develop, launch and manage new competitions and campaigns that promote the Woke Babies brand
  • Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms
  • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
  • Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
  • Analyse competitor activity
  • Recommend improvements to increase performance
  • Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase customer engagement
  • Manage a budget for social media activities
  • Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within Woke Babies respective roles
  • Regularly liaise with clients via telephone, email, Zoom, Teams, conference calls or face-to-face.
